My Story

Being proud of my Greek heritage and culture was the inspiration for opening Yiayia’s Market.  Some of my best memories come from the excitement and energy at our church festivals.  

 As a youth, I loved walking from vendor table to vendor table looking at all of the exotic wares from Greece.  It is important to me to bring that energy and excitement to you, with authentic products from Greece for your home. 

When we first opened Yiayia's Market online, initially many of our products were from the island of Lesvos, the island of my heritage. My family immigrated to the USA from Lesvos in 1910, and in 2023 I was honored to present my children's picture book, Pete Comes To America, to the Mayor's office in Mytiline.

 Over the years, our collections have changed; many of our wonderful Greek artists and makers have changed, and the places we source from have evolved as well, keeping up with current trends and traditions. Today, we import our authentic items from many different artists and locations throughout Greece.

 My family brought Greece with them to America. Today, through Yiayia's Market,  I have the privilege of bringing a little bit of Greece back home here to the USA.  

We are a small family business, and this Yiayia stays busy with our 14 grandchildren and extended family.  I’m dedicated to treating you as a member of my family at my Sunday dinner table, where the heart of the Greek family thrives.
